of study and practice which aims at the prevention of disease and the promotion
of health, carried on by preventive medicine department (PMD)
holistic health : a system of preventive medicine that takes into
account the whole individual, his own responsibility for his well-being
and the total influences—social, psychological, environmental—that affect
health, including nutrition, exercise, and mental relaxation
social medicine : phases of preventive
medicine and the care of the sick which concern the community as a whole
or large groups of persons rather than the individual
